We're moving.
Sad. But necessary.

We have a contract on another home, more room, great street, and just begging for a facelift. I'm picky, so I LOVE a good re-do. BUT, I would be just as content if we had to stay here a little longer- we have put soo much into this little 40's cottage and have made some great memories in it (sniff sniff).

Looks like Sam might hard time with the move too...

Teething Already?

Little man is starting to teethe! The hints he has dropped thus far: constant drool, gnawing on his fingers, fussiness, the relief he has when hand him a rubbery ring that he chomps on, and probably the biggest giveaway: two nubs emerging from his top jaw. My baby is growing up!



Here he is with my mom - she was with us this week watching Rhett since Nanny Fay was out of town. They really enjoyed each other!
Note the necklace: we aren't trying to outfit our baby in some hippy chain, it is actually an "amber stone" necklace. It's for the teething... it's soothing for babies. I've read several testimonials about them, and have friends that swear by it. They are made safe for babies-Sounds hoaky, but it works!

I should take my own advice and take time for me during his naps...but I just love watching him sleep... it cracks Porter up that I take pictures of this kinda thing...

One Sick Puppy

We have had a tumultous week. Rhett caught a respiratory infection- rattling in his chest turned into a barking cough, scared us half to death. We took him to the hospital last week out of panic! Our doctor said he has "croup." It is awful, but with the help of a few breathing treatments every day, he is coming out of it. It is kind of funny to reflect on our first sick-kid experience. At the hospital, Porter and I are just nervous wrecks trying to explain our child's ailment to the doctor while Rhett is just smiling and flirting with the nurses- not very convincing. Anyway, I am staying home to take care of him. He has been a trooper with the nebulizer treatments and sleeping around our bathroom remodel (great timing, huh?).Our humidfier is working overtime while we are doing what we can to keep his chest elevated and him comfortable. Whew!

Porter is going to replace our bathtub this weekend for my Valentine's present. I have yet to take a bath in the one we have right now...actually I did once for like 5 seconds because it grossed me out! With the help of our Uncle Bill and some nice neighbors of ours, we should have a squeaky clean tub by this weekend. Speaking of bathes, check my little squeaky clean stud after his' tonight:
